An in-line filter installs directly in a fluid line and strains contaminants out of the flow passing through it, protecting the pump, valves, and other close-tolerance components downstream from the grit and wear metal that circulate in a working hydraulic system. Mounted in the line rather than in a dedicated housing, it is plumbed between two points of the circuit.
