This steering bearing race fits Crown lift trucks and provides the hardened raceway surface that a steering bearing's rolling elements ride against inside the steering column or axle assembly.

A bearing race has to hold a precise, smooth surface for the rollers or balls to travel on; any pitting or roughness on that surface translates directly into play, resistance, or noise felt at the steering wheel. Because steering assemblies see constant load reversals as the operator turns the wheel back and forth, the race surface gradually wears from repeated rolling contact, and a worn race is a common cause of steering that feels loose, gritty, or harder to turn than it should. At 22 pounds, this is a substantial component within the steering assembly. Replacing the race along with its mating bearing restores smooth, precise steering response on Crown equipment.
