Bearing – RA448-221

A bearing in the transmission and drive assembly of a Raymond lift truck supports a rotating shaft under load while letting it turn freely. Its rolling elements sit between an inner and outer race, spreading the load so the shaft spins with little friction while staying located in its housing.

A bearing in this duty is a wear item. As the races and rolling elements fatigue, it develops play, runs rough, and grows noisy, and left to fail it begins to damage the shaft and housing it rides in. Catching those signs and replacing the bearing protects the surrounding drivetrain from the costlier damage a seized bearing causes.

Match the bore, outer diameter, width, and bearing series to the bearing being replaced, since one that is close but not exact will not seat properly or carry the intended load, and series differences change the internal clearance and seal even at a shared bore.
