Machined teeth on this Raymond sprocket engage a drive chain to move power through the transmission and drive assembly of a Raymond lift truck. The teeth mesh with the chain rollers evenly so drive transfers to the load with minimal slack or backlash, keeping the chain tracking true under pull.

Constant meshing under load is what wears a sprocket. Hardened teeth resist that wear and hold accurate pitch over long service, but as they hook or thin, the chain begins to ride high, jump, or wear rapidly against them. A fresh sprocket restores clean chain engagement and correct pitch, and it is worth inspecting the mating chain at the same time, since a worn chain will quickly damage a new sprocket.

It fits Raymond drive and transmission assemblies, so match the tooth count and chain pitch to the sprocket coming off the truck, since a sprocket of the wrong pitch will not seat the chain correctly.
